A Summer Picnic Social has been planned for all choir members and their friends and family to celebrate our hard work over the past term and relax after an exhausting weekend last week. Sunday 18th July, 2-5pm, in Tom's Garden (full details in the weekly email).

Choir invited to give workshop! The Oxford City Singers were asked to give a 'Choir Workshop' as part of the Oxford Folk Festival 2010. On the beautiful Spring day that was Saturday 17th April, 30 members of the choir and over 20 members of the public joined together to learn about the finer points of community singing. Choir break out the eggs and flour in aid of Haiti! The choir raised over £360 in a bake sale for the Haiti DEC Appeal - treats included homemade Spanish Omelette, musical chocolate brownies and a cake in the shape of a piano! See a photo here.

Members of the choir join to raise money for Haiti! 25 members of the choir took part in a singing workshop to learn and record a Haitian Folk Sing, "Fey-O", to raise money for the DEC Appeal. You can get your hands on the track (which sounds AMAZING!) by visting JustGiving and donating at least £2 - the track will then be sent to you in an email. Our next Social Event - Bingo, November 20th, 7pm: £12.50 will buy you a book of Bingo tickets for a two hour session at Gala Bingo at the Kassam Stadium Leisure Complex. REHEARSALS CONFIRMED FOR REST OF YEAR: The remaining dates for the weekly rehearsals have now been confirmed and can be found on the Where-When page. Please note that the rehearsal on December 10th will be at our Christmas Concert venue, The University Chaplaincy and NOT at St Michaels.

KARAOKE SOCIAL: Friday 25th Sepetmber will see the 2nd Singers Social! Starting with a buffet chinese at Eamayl on Park End Street we will wsiftly move on to the Duke's Cut for some much needed alocohol to get us in the mood for Karaoke at Thirst Bar. WEBSITE RE-LAUNCH: The website has undergone a major overhaul to make everything more accessible and generally more pleasing to the eye! A tidier homepage and menu mean that all Singers materials (photos, videos, music...) is now available at the click of a button. The site now also features many of the wonderful photos from our Summer Concert.

PHOTOS AVAILABLE: A fantastic selection of official photos from the Summer Concert can now be viewed online. If you would like a high resolution version of any, just note the photo number (displayed at the bottom of the slideshow) and send me an email. Photos here.

RECORDINGS NOW ONLINE: All of the full-choir songs from the Summer Concert are now available to listen to online. You can also now purchase a Summer Concert CD for only £2 - available at rehearsals from August onwards. Recordings here.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT CONFIRMED: The date and venue of the Christmas Concert have now been organised - we will be hosting our christmas festivities in the Newman Room of the University Chaplaincy on St Aldate's on Saturday 12th December. Details here.
