History

The Oxford City Singers was founded in 2009 by Michelle Cresswell to offer a light-hearted antidote to the more serious side of singing. The first rehearsal was attended by over 50 people and obviously filled a gap in the choir landscape in Oxford. Since then the membership has grown and rehearsals regularly fetch around 100 singers.

At the beginning of 2012 Michelle had to leave Oxford and now runs the equally successful Edinburgh City Singers. Since then the choir has been lead by Jennifer McParland and is run by a committee of choir members.

In 2015 we became a registered charity in England.
